A biography of a speaker at the South West Housing Event

Chris Boyes

Chris has a degree in Social Policy and Administration and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Housing. Over the last 15 years he has worked in a wide variety of housing roles in Wiltshire, Bath and Somerset. This experience helped to prepare him to become the project manager for Somer Community Action in Neighbourhoods (SCAN) in 2001. Since then SCAN has become an exciting and effective way of bringing lasting positive change to neighbourhoods that are under pressure.

During 2005 Chris led a review of Somer Housing Group's Environmental Strategy. Following this a new strategy was approved that sets-out a challenging agenda for positive environmental management within the Group over the next 5 years. Chris is now working with colleagues, residents and partners on implementing a diverse range of actions that together ensure the strategy becomes a reality.

Chris is married to Hazel and lives in a village in Wiltshire. He is fully involved in the life of a Baptist Church in Bradford-on-Avon and hopes that his knees hold-up during another season of wicket-keeping for his beloved Bradford 39ers Cricket Club.
