Resident-led regulation - Judy Wayne

In 2007 the Chartered Institute of Housing published Resident-led regulation, potential and prospects and Tribal consultants authored the work. This report were produced to open up discussion on how housing organisations can develop self-regulation regimes based on their residents' views and priorities, by building on the sector's exisiting resident involvement activities.

The CAVE review of regulation 'Every Tenant Matters' and a range of policy guides is bringing about a change in the relationship between tenants and their landlords, one where residents have a more central role. This workshop will review the latest thinking on resident-led regulation, what it means in practice and how can we develop the skills needed for new roles.
