Speaker Biography
Peter Cooper
Peter Cooper has enjoyed a varied career working in local government, housing associations and in consultancy. He has held senior management positions with four local authorities and two housing associations and has been involved with policy development throughout his career. He has served on the Boards of Housing 21 and Aashyana Housing Association, and has also been a policy adviser to the Local Government Association and is a member of the CIH South West Branch committee. As an independent housing consultant he specialises in supporting managers in housing organisations in reviewing strategies, policies and procedures. He also provides training on good practice issues. He also has a particular expertise in delivering choice based lettings, having set up one of the original pilot schemes in 2002 and having subsequently supported the development of four sub-regional schemes.
